We can now confirm that the Treasurer has released the official rules for the JobKeeper program and some explanatory notes regarding the rules. We can also confirm that the ATO has provided guidance on the rules on their website: https://www.ato.gov.au/general/jobkeeper-payment/

We can report that the information provided in our original JobKeeper – Part 1 and JobKeeper – Part 2
were accurate.

We would like to bring to your attention the following additional information on each of the Six Steps we outlined in JobKeeper – Part 1:

Step 2 – Employee Eligibility

The ATO has also provided a sample “Employee Nomination Form” – https://www.ato.gov.au/Forms/JobKeeper-payment—employee-nomination-notice/. All employees are required to give their employer this form if they wish to participate.

Step 4 – The Employer notifies the Commissioner

The ATO has confirmed it will begin taking the Employer Nominations on 20 April 2020 either through Business Portal or the Tax Agent Portal.  If you are paying JobKeeper from the first and second fortnights, the final date for nomination is 26 April 2020.
