Latest Changes in NSW JobSaver Program – What Do You Need to Know?
NSW has reached its 80% double vaccination rate. How does this fact impact your business’ entitlement to receive NSW Jobsaver payments, and for how much longer will you receive these payments if you remain eligible? Our answers are below.
Recent Changes in NSW JobSaver Program
Except for businesses from regional areas in NSW, the amount of the fortnightly JobSaver payments is reduced to the greater of 15% of the business’ average weekly payroll, or the weekly payment ranges listed below.
- Currently
- For employing businesses: the weekly payment range (paid fortnightly) is $562.50 to $37,500.
- For non-employing businesses: the set weekly payment amount (paid fortnightly) is $375.
- After 30 November 2021
- There will be no further payments.
NSW JobSaver Program for Regional Eligible Businesses
For regional eligible businesses, the NSW Government will defer the above tapering of the JobSaver program until 31 October 2021 when intra-state travel restrictions are lifted.
This means that, until 31 October 2021, eligible regional businesses will receive the greater of 30% of their average weekly payroll, or the weekly payment ranges listed below. These amounts then will halve from 1 November 2021 and will match the tapered amounts applicable to the rest of the state.
- Currently (until 31 October 2021)
- For employing businesses: the weekly payment range (paid fortnightly) is $1,125 to $75,000.
- For non-employing businesses: the set weekly payment amount (paid fortnightly) is $750.
- From 1 November 2021
- For employing businesses: the weekly payment range (paid fortnightly) is $562.50 to $37,500.
- For non-employing businesses: the set weekly payment amount (paid fortnightly) is $375.
- After 30 November 2021
- There will be no further payments.
After 30 November 2021, the NSW JobSaver payments will cease entirely for all businesses due to the planned easing of restrictions in NSW from 1 December 2021.
