Summary of 2021 COVID-19 Support Payments Available to Queensland Entities & Workers
Recently we posted information about the 2021 COVID-19 QLD Business Support Grants, specifically:

To help you navigate the range of accessible funding programs, below we offer a summary of Government Support Payments available to Queensland entities and workers affected by the lockdowns imposed since 31 July 2021.
Grant Available
- $10,000 or $15,000 for small and medium businesses with annual payroll less than $1.3 million or less than $10 million respectively.
- $30,000 for large tourism and hospitality businesses (with annual payroll greater than $10 million).
Who is Eligible?
- Small and medium businesses and not for profit organisations that have been negatively impacted by the lockdown.
- Large tourism and hospitality businesses and not for profit organisations that have been negatively impacted by the lockdown.

2021 COVID-19 Business Support Grants for Non-Employing Sole Traders
Grant Available
$1,000
Who is Eligible?
Non-employing sole traders, who are not already claiming the Commonwealth Government’s COVID-19 Disaster Payment.
Conditions
To be confirmed by the Queensland Government.
Commonwealth Government COVID-19 Disaster Payment
Grant Available
$450 or $750 weekly, throughout the period in which you lost your usual source of income because it was impacted by a Commonwealth-declared COVID-19 Hot spot that was subject to a state restricted movement order.
Who is Eligible?
Workers:
- $750 – If they lose 20 hours or more of work in an impacted week.
- $450 – If they lose between 8 hours and less than 20 hours or a full day of work in an impacted week.
Conditions
- Australian resident or holder of visa that gives the right to work in Australia.
- 17 years of age or older.
- Did not receive for the same period any of the following:
- An income support payment;
- Dad and Partner Pay;
- Parental Leave Pay;
- Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment;
- State Pandemic Payment; or
- A state small business payment.
- Lost income and did not have any pandemic-related paid leave entitlements.
- Lived in, worked from, or visited a Commonwealth-declared COVID-19 Hot spot.
- Not receiving usual income and employer is not receiving Retaining Domestic Airline Capability payments on the worker’s behalf.
How to Apply?
Online via a myGov account linked to Centrelink:
- Sign in to myGov and select Apply for support from the Government support for coronavirus alert.
- Under Affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19), select Get started.
- Select Apply for COVID-19 Disaster Payment.
- Answer the eligibility and claim questions.
- Submit your claim.
